Incubus’ Ben Kenney has a couple performance dates lined up for 2021, one of which will be at the Moroccan Lounge in Los Angeles on January 15, 2021. The show will be in support of his 2019 release Must Be Nice. His Moroccan Lounge performance was initially scheduled on April 3, 2020, but has been pushed back due to Covid-19.
Kenney is currently the bass player for Incubus. He originally played guitar for the hip-hop group The Roots before joining Incubus in 2003 following the departure of the bassist and founding member, Alex Katunich. Kenney currently has six solo albums under his belt. His first few albums were released on his own record company, Ghetto Crush Industries, which has also released music for The Division Group, Aleda and Root Valdez. On his solo recordings, Kenney displays his musical talents by playing each instrument, writing and singing. His touring band consists of Ashley Mendel on bass guitar and vocals and Sekou Lumumba on drums.
Must Be Nice brings to mind a twist on Incubus. The sounds is still reminiscent of ’90s alt rock with some unique textures and solos. A music video for opening track “Over Me” teased the new album, which was released in January of 2020. Grab your tickets and get a taste of Incubus’ talented band member.
