Stoner rock giants Monster Magnet is on the road to Chicago next year! Monster Magnet has created hype rock songs that reach far and wide with cultural influence, from wrestling, to TV, and even having a Marvel character named after one of their tracks. It’s often hard to come off as cool and funny at the same time, however Monster Magnet pulls it off. Tracks featuring playful lyrics, sometimes hedonistic, don’t come off as taking themselves too seriously, but at the same time take quite an awesome composition. It’s Monster Magnet’s hedonistic aesthetic that shows the band’s music reflects having a good time and enjoying the finer pleasures of life. In both aesthetic and sound, Monster Magnets thrashing guitars and clashing drums set a pace for stoner rock bands to come, and those influenced by the genre.
Monster Magnet was formed in 1989 by lead singer Dave Wyndorf, whose vocals are reflective of a badass Vegas cowboy. In 1991 they released their debut album Spine of God which attracted the band a cult following, and is a hall of fame stoner rock album. Their third album released in 1995, Dopes To Infinity contains their hit single Negasonic Teenage Warhead, and is the namesake for a Marvel Mutant. After which, Monster Magnet released a string of instant hits, such as Powertrip and Space Lord in 1998. Monster Magnet’s most recent album is Mindfucker released in 2018.
Monster Magnets knack for making music about enjoying life to the fullest will be on full display for you to enjoy live at the beginning of next year!
