Boombox Cartel is a popular electronic music DJ act based in Los Angeles. Currently consisting of producer Americo Garcia and writing partner Jorge Medina, the duo has found fame within the EDM scene with their dubstep, hybrid trap music. The pair first met in high school in Monterrey, Mexico, and began to build a friendship that continued when the pair decided to pursue music at the same college. Eventually moving to Los Angeles, Boombox Cartel soon released their first track with Ian Everson, titled “B2U”, that immediately garnered attention from the likes of Diplo, Skrillex, and other industry figures. Boombox Cartel would later sign with Diplo’s label in 2016 and release its Cartel EP in 2017. Since then Boombox Cartel has collaborated with artists like MadeinTYO, Desiigner, and other artists.
Most recently, however, Boombox Cartel has announced that the duo will be performing in the Bay Area at a drive-in, socially-distanced event at the Alameda County Fairgrounds on October 24th. In a partnership with Vital Events, the event will be held adhering to all COVID-19 precautions, and every preventative measure will be taken.
