Country trio The Lone Bellow is coming to Chicago to give you that sweet taste of Americana, that’s not just exclusive to the South, but universally loved around the nation. The Lone Bellow started off as the project of Zack Williams, who would write in his journal to cope with an injury that his wife suffered (and recovered from thankfully), and started to turn those entries into song. After moving to Brooklyn, Williams met the rest of his future band members, Kanene Donehdy Pipkin and Brian Elmquist. The Lone Bellow takes a vocally stylized approach to country, Williams is the lead singer, but all contribute vocals, leading to a beautiful and power extension of their voices in a kind of country acapella, along with harmonizing acoustic chords.
The Lone Bellow began their journey with the release of their self titled debut album, which contained their single, Bleeding Out, in 2013, which quickly earned them a fanbase. Their next album was even more popular, titled Then Came the Morning in which they had appearances on several late-night shows such as Jimmy Kimmel, Conan O’Brian, David Letterman, and more. Their third album Walk Into a Storm features their popular single, Time’s Always Leaving. Their latest album, Half Moon Light came out in February this year.
The howling vocals of the trio are sure to stir something up in just about anyone who listens. Be sure to see The Lone Bellow perform Half Moon Light live next year!
