LA’s Chicano Batman are have rescheduled their 2020 US tour to begin in the summer of 2021. They’re bringing special guests Les Butcherettes along to support their Invisible People release tour, and will stop at the massive Shrine Auditorium and Expo Hall in Los Angeles on May 15, 2021.
The four-piece group formed in 2008 and draw from a mix of genres including psychedelic rock, soul, funk, indie and prog. Members include Eduardo Arenas, Carlos Arévalo, Bardo Martinez and Gabriel Villa, who banded together over their appreciation for ’60s Brazilian artist Caetano Veloso and Tropicália music. Their influences include classics like The Beatles and soul artists like Curtis Mayfield and Delfonics, but is laced with latin styles and sounds.
With four successful albums under their belt and a handful of singles and EPs, Chicano Batman have made quite a splash in the LA scene, touring with greats like Jack White and playing major festivals like Coachella. Their latest album Invisible People was released on May 1, 2020 and is funky and fresh as ever.
