Red Bull Cutting Back on Music Programs During Coronavirus Pandemic, Red Bull Music Festival at Risk of Termination

Due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic the Austria based company has been forced to reel back on their marketing when it comes to live events. It has been reported that this will make a large effect on the Red Bull Music Festival and the Red Bull Concert series.

The move to save money on the music side of things is nothing new. Red Bull was reported to have shut down the Red Bull Music Academy and Red Bull Radio. Both of these programs had been running for 20 plus years at the time of their shut down. Originally, the programs were available to give underground artists resources they might not have had otherwise.

Programs that have been shut down this year have been because of the pandemic and its effect on the live music industry in the time of quarantine and self isolation.

Last year’s Red Bull Music Festival took place in New York with acts such as FKA Twigs, Holly Herndon, and Tierra Whack. The Festival took place at the end of April and the beginning of May. In 2018 the Red Bull Music Festival took place in Chicago where Pusha T and Jamila Woods.

There was also a Red Bull Music Festival that took place in Los Angeles. The show took place throughout the month of February and had various different acts. Robyn, the Swedish pop artist, was included in the lineup, along with the showing of the soundtrack of the Red Dead Redemption 2 video game by the game composer Woody Jackson.

It is not confirmed whether or not the Red Bull Music Festival is going to be completely terminated or not. All that is for sure at this point is that there is going to be a huge effect on the Festival.
