Jazz-based collective Snarky Puppy are scheduled to perform at the stunning Walt Disney Concert Hall this October on the 13th. The primarily instrumental ensemble mixes jazz, rock, world music and funk genres together in a way that is accessible to fans of these genres and more.

The group was formed in Denton, Texas by bassist Michael League. Initially a 10-piece band, they eventually grew into a supergroup known as “The Fam” with over 40 members in rotation since their conception in 2003. The group have earned themselves three Grammy Awards during their lifetime, including Best Contemporary Instrumental album for Sylva (2015) and Culcha Vulcha (2016) and Best R&B Performance for “Something” (2013). Members of Snarky Puppy have performed with the likes of superstars including Erykah Badu, Marcus Miller, Justin Timberlake, Stanley Clarke, Kirk Franklin, Ari Hoenig, Roy Hargrove, David Crosby and Snoop Dogg. The band’s indie label, GroundUP Music has allowed up-and-coming acts to gain similar fandom as the band.

Currently, the group have 25 members in their regular rotation. They’ve toured all around the world and have grown from new influences each member brings to the table.
