Surfer Blood Performing Live at Hotel Vegas w/ Winter 2/2/21

Surfer Blood

Floridian indie rock band Surfer Blood is rescheduling their tour from this year to starting in January of 2021 due to concerns over COVID-19. They will be stopping in Austin early on in their tour to play a show at Hotel Vegas on Tuesday, February 2nd along with indie dreampop artist Winter. All tickets previously purchased will be valid for the new date so hang on to yours if you already got one! According to the Eventbrite page, ticket sales have ended and there has been no word on if they will open up again.

Surfer Blood was founded by John Paul Pitts and Tyler Schwartz in 2009 and is currently comprised of other members Mike McCleary and Lindsey Mills. All attended the same West Palm Beach high school and connected through their musical passions. Surfer Blood’s style is a clean indie rock sound washed over by waves of catchy guitar rhythms that just scream “surf’s up!” and is the perfect soundtrack for soaking up the sun. The band released their debut album Astro Coast the same year of their formation featuring the critically acclaimed single “Swim” which was included on Pitchfork’s 100 Best Songs of 2009. A 10-year anniversary Deluxe edition of Astro Coast is set to be released in August of this year followed by their latest work Carefree Theatre to be released later in September. Be sure to check the album out when it drops and don’t miss this sunny Florida-based band when they hit the stage at Hotel Vegas next year!
