Austin’s 102.3 Presenting The Beat Throwdown at the HEB Center at Cedar Park Featuring Busta Rhymes, Brandy, Jon B. and More 7/25

It’s the perfect night for 90s hip hop and R&B! We can never get enough of the good old stuff and Austin’s 102.3 knows this which is why they’re bringing it all back with The Beat Throwdown. It’s happening at the HEB Center at Cedar Park on Saturday, July 25th, rescheduled from its original date that was previously set in April. All tickets already purchased will be honored for the new show date. This throwback event will be featuring performances by major hip hop icons of the 90s including Busta Rhymes, Brandy, Case, Next, Mya and Jon B. Doors open that night at 6pm and the show will start an hour later at 7. You can still purchase general admission tickets now for $49.50 at the lowest price.

With his fast and complex rapping style and eccentric fashion sense, Busta Rhymes has easily become one of the most notable artists in the realm of hip hop music. He excels beyond just being a rapper, he is also a record producer and actor as well, appearing in films such as Higher Learning, Halloween: Resurrection and Narc. Busta was originally a member of the hip hop group Leaders of the New School and began his music project as an individual in 1996 with breakout single “Woo-Hah!! Got You All in Check” from debut album The Coming. This success had him diving head first into his solo career. Busta has released nine studio albums and has collaborated with countless artists like Notorious B.I.G., Mary J. Blige, Boyz II Men, Chris Brown and Lil Wayne just to name a few.

Also making an appearance will be smooth R&B songstress Brandy whose music was widely celebrated during the 90s and early 2000s. Brandy started out her music career early on in her childhood as a backup vocalist for teen music groups. She made her official debut in 1994 with her self-titled debut album featuring the tracks “I Wanna be Down” and “Baby”. She racked in major success with the track “The Boy is Mine”, a duet with fellow soul artist Monica in 1998. On top of that, Brandy balanced making music with her acting career, starring as the main character on the popular 90s sitcom Moesha, starred alongside Whitney Houston in Cinderella and even did some voice acting in the animated movie Osmosis Jones. You can hear her latest musical contribution in Daniel Caesar’s “Love Again”, a duet that became a Grammy winning performance.

If 90s hip hop and R&B is your jam (isn’t it everyone’s?) then be sure not to miss out on these epic performances that will definitely take you back in time at the HEB Center this summer.
