The Dead South Performing Live at Scoot Inn 9/25

Canadian folk-bluegrass ensemble The Dead South will be playing a show at Austin’s Scoot Inn on Friday, September 25th as part of their Served Cold Tour. Doors to the event will be opening that night at 7pm and the guys will hit the stage an hour later at 8. This show is for all ages to enjoy and advanced general admission tickets are going for $24. Ticket prices will increase slightly to $27 if purchased on the day of the show.

The Dead South is based out of Regina Saskatchewan, Canada and is comprised of Nate Hills’s rich baritone vocals, Scott Pringle on mandolin, Colton Crawford on banjo and Danny Kenyon on cello; Hilts, Pringle and Kenyon all contribute to the vocals. The quartet’s music is an epic mixture of bluegrass and rock with gritty punk and folky textures that really captures the essence of the South. They formed in 2012 and made their debut in 2013 with The Ocean Went Mad and We Were to Blame, a five-song EP. Their full-length debut album Good Company was released the following year. Known for their shameful weirdness, they especially embrace it through their 2019 album Sugar & Joy, which hit number one on the Billboard bluegrass chart. With high-energy live performances, The Dead South has sold out countless shows around the world and continue to bring their rebellious southern charm — served cold!
