The Homesick Performing Live at Mohawk 8/12

The Homesick

Dutch post punk band The Homesick will be bringing the noise to Austin’s Mohawk this summer on Wednesday, August 12th. Doors to the venue open that night at 8pm and the guys will hit the stage an hour later at 9. Advance general admission tickets for this all ages show are going for only $12 and will increase slightly to $15 if you purchase them on the day of the show.

Hailing from the Netherlands, The Homesick is a grungy trio comprised of members Elias Elgersma on guitar, Jaap van der Velde on bass and Erik Woudwijk on drums. With their energetic drum beats and aggressive noise guitar sound, The Homesick’s musical style is a playful form of punk rock with indie undertones. Their debut LP Youth Hunt was released in 2017 and snagged critical acclaim in Europe, setting the stage for something more. After signing with the indie Seattle label Sub Pop, their second album The Big Exercise was released. Featuring the tracks “Male Bonding” and “I Celebrate My Fantasy”, the album is a compilation of complex vocals and instrumentation, displaying the band’s non-conformist attitude and style.
