Based in Atlanta, Georgia, Goodie Mob is an iconic hip-hop group originally formed in 1991 and debuted on Outkast’s Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik. Today, its lineup is composed of Cee-Lo Green, Big Gupp, Khujo, and T-Mo. Drawing inspiration originally from the famed Dungeon Family, Goodie Mob is best known for their hits like “Cell Therapy”, “Soul Food”, and “Dirty South”. With its debut album, Soul Food, Goodie Mob received moderate acclaim and great urban radio recognition for some of the album’s hit singles. However, with all good things must come to an end, and after Cee-Lo Green decided to break off from the group after the release of its third album, World Party, Goodie Mob was effectively unraveled.
However, in the early 2000s, the world was able to see the return of the Goodie Mob. After a Gnarls Barkley show in 2006, the four members appeared on stage together for the first time in years. In late 2008, the four even performed together at a free Nelly concert, marking the group’s unofficial reunion. This reunion was made official when they performed their first reunion concert at the Masquerade in Atlanta. Since then the group has released new music together and embarked on tours together. More importantly, the group will also be coming to the Bay Area on September 27th to perform at The New Parish.
