Morrissey, Bauhaus and Blondie to take the stage at Cruel World Fest rescheduled to 9/12 at Dignity Health Sports Park

Cruel World Fest, initially scheduled for May, has been rescheduled to September 12, 2020. Goldenvoice’s inaugural ’80s-inspired fest boasts a stacked lineup of influential ’80s artists and some newer post-punk faves. When else will fans get to see this many ’80s favorites in one day during this time? The opportunity certainly doesn’t arise often.

Although last year we saw some fantastic reunion performances from Bauhaus at the Hollywood Palladium and Devo at Desert Daze, this fest takes it to a whole new level. Morrissey, Bauhaus, Blondie and Devo all on one bill? The only way to make this even better would be to add The Cure to the bill. Plus post-punk favorites like Black Marble, TR/ST and The KVB fit in seamlessly in this throwback lineup. The lineup is not dissimilar to the infamous Cloak and Dagger Fest, which has taken place at the historic Los Angeles Theater in the past few years. ’80s legend Gary Numan headlined last year’s Cloak and Dagger, and pervious lineups have included She Wants Revenge, Black Marble and more.

While Cruel World festival-goers can likely expect to see fans dressed in colorful ’80s outfits, many will follow suit with the Cloak and Dagger crowd. The Dignity Health Sports Park, home of the LA Galaxy soccer team and located near Cal State Dominguez Hills will host this major festival. The park has announced additional festivals to be held on their grounds this year including nostalgic R&B throwback fest, Lovers and Friends.
