Black Marble Performing Live at Barracuda w/ Moaning 7/26

Bring out the synths! Los Angeles-based bands Black Marble and Moaning are going on tour together and will be hitting up Austin’s Barracuda on Sunday, July 26th. The show has been rescheduled from its original date in April to this summer and all tickets previously purchased will be honored for the new date. Doors to the venue open at 8:00pm and the first sounds will start an hour later at 9. General admission tickets for this all ages event are up for just $15.

Black Marble is the cold wave music project of Brooklyn, New York’s Chris Stewart whose inspiration stems mostly from 80s synthwave. Stewart’s music ranges from dark and moody to warm and light, creating a glittering synth-pop sound. His debut EP Weight Against the Door was released in 2012 and his chilling full-length debut A Different Arrangement came out later that year. Upon his move to the West coast, Stewart was experiencing many transitions, both mentally and physically and he channels a new and refreshing lo-fi sound on his 2019 album Bigger Than Life.

Post-punk trio Moaning is comprised of longtime friends Sean Solomon, Pascal Stevenson and Andrew Mackelvie. Blending synthwave with pop rock, the trio creates a dreamy form of expression, channeling the anxieties, uncertainties and fears that come with being human. In 2018, they released their self-titled debut album and in March of this year, Uneasy Laughter followed, shifting gears from noisy pop to more of a synth-based dreampop fusion. Lead singer/guitarist Solomon also expresses his creativity through animation, some of which can be seen in Moaning’s music video for the track “Fall in Love”.

If you’re down for a delightful mixture of synth-pop, new wave and post-punk all in one night, don’t miss Black Marble and Moaning at Barracuda this summer!
