Born Christopher Brent Wood but better known by his stage name Brent Faiyaz, Faiyaz is a quickly rising American record producer and singer. Having been born and raised in Columbia, Maryland, then moved to Charlotte, North Carolina, and later Los Angeles, Faiyaz first began uploading music to his SoundCloud in 2014 before releasing his debut single, “Allure” and later “Invite”. However, it wasn’t until the release of his debut EP, A.M. Paradox, that Faiyaz began garnering the attention he deserved. His smooth, buttery voice and highly expressive lyrics were met with positive reviews from critics. After his release, however, Faiyaz decided to form Sonder, a collective composed of himself and record producers Dpat and Atu.
However, Faiyaz decided to also pursue his solo career, releasing Sonder Son and F*ck the World. Faiyaz was also featured on multiple chart-topping singles including Juice Wrld’s “Demonz (Interlude” and Goldlink’s “Crew”, the latter of which was nominated for a Grammy Award. On August 11th, Brent Faiyaz’s rich voice will be coming to San Francisco’s The Fillmore for a show that is not one to be missed. Faiyaz will be sure to stir emotions with his performance.
