There’s nothing like the organic structure of rock music that came out of the 70s and 80s. One of the most influential artists during those times was fierce female rocker Joan Jett. Starting out in the rebellious all-girl band The Runaways at just the age of 15, Jett has worked her way to becoming a trailblazer and inspiration for women in rock music everywhere. Founding her own independent record label in 1980 after the disbandment of The Runaways set her on a new path with the release of solo album Bad Reputation. She then went on to form a full band with The Blackhearts the next year and released the highly successful I Love Rock ‘N’ Roll album that she became known for. With several platinum and gold albums throughout her career, Jett’s fearless approach and determination has made her music a prominent force in mainstream culture even today.
