Indie folk rock artist Kurt Vile is going on tour this summer and he’s making a stop at Austin’s Scoot Inn on Friday, September 18th. Doors to the event open at 7:30pm with an opening performance by Welsh folk artist Cate Le Bon when the show starts at 8:30. Kurt Vile’s music can qualify for a multitude of genres including psychedelic folk with aspects of country and bluegrass and undeniable elements of rock n’ roll. The Philadelphia based singer is the former lead guitarist of indie psychedelia band The War on Drugs and parted with the band to pursue his solo music after the release of their debut LP in 2008. Vile’s streak of success picked up with the release of his 2011 album Smoke for my Halo. His 2015 work B’lieve I’m Goin Down…. received widespread recognition featuring the tracks “Pretty Pimpin” and “Lost My Head There”. Vile’s music is introspective with contemplative lyrics and laidback instrumentals, creating a relatable and meditative vibe. In 2018, Vile released his latest album Bottle It In, a profound and psychedelic journey through a dazed reality.
