Laibach Announces Box Set Version of Remastered and Expanded Self-Titled Debut Album Titled REVISITED

Slovenian avant garde industrial rock band Laibach has just announced Laibach Revisited, a limited edition, specialized box set containing remasterings of two of the band’s albums, with included previously unreleased bonus tracks. The box set includes Laibach, the band’s self titled debut album originally released in 1985, as well as Revisited, the band’s new 12-track album that features reworkings of tracks from the first half of the 1980’s, as well as live recordings of two tracks that were featured in the band’s recent touring, “SMRT ZA SMRT” and “TI, KI IZZIVAŠ”.

Laibach Revisited also contains Underground, a live album recorded in 2012 in the Velenje Coal Mines, 200 meters below the surface of the Earth. Additionally, the box set will include a 160-page book containing 69 authentic Laibach linocuts, featuring an essay on Laibach written by Marcel Štefančič Jr, with additional text provided by former President of Slovenia Milan Kučan, as well as other band merchandise, historical photos, and a foreword written by Igor Vidmar.

Laibach has not been a band to shy away from controversy, which is driven by their curious relationship with North Korea. Laibach has been one of the first European bands to perform live in North Korea, and released an album in 2018 covering songs from The Sound of Music, which was largely inspired by the band’s setlist from their show in North Korea. The band doubled down last year when they released an EP Party Songs which contained six more unpublished tracks from the band’s set in North Korea.

As part of the album launch, Laibach released live footage from their TI, KI IZZIVAŠ tour, which you can check out below. Also check out the album cover art, boxset art, and track list:

Drew Feinerman: I have just completed my senior at the University of Michigan majoring in international studies with an emphasis in political economics and development, with a minor in Chinese language and culture, and I have recently been accepted into the Berklee School of Music's masters of music business program. Although my academic interests include economics, political science, and history, I consider music to be my one true passion. Music is, and has always been, a driving force for the way I think and act every day of my life. I have been playing the tenor saxophone since the age of ten, and playing an instrument at a high level has allowed me to only further my understanding and appreciation for music. While I grew up listening to predominantly classic rock, I soon found myself gravitating toward jazz, hip-hop, funk, and other genres, as my learned to both play and analyze music as a listener. As a writer, I am able to apply my skills both as a musician and a listener, and look forward to the opportunity to being able to express my thoughts on various stories in the music industry.
