Anyone who listens to electronic music can tell you that great dance bands are few and far between. The ability to pull together the sounds that make people move is one skill set and pulling together sounds that work in an album format is an entirely separate skillset. That’s why the moment a group like Daft Punk or Justice hits the scene they become instant classics. Sooner rather than later you should start to hear Disclosure mentioned in the same breath as these timeless electronic acts.
Kicking off their career with an incomparable debut, Settle, Disclosure quickly launched themselves into a rare tier of artist. While “Latch” gained them massive popularity, other tracks like “White Noise” and “Confess To Me” turned them into dance icons. They were thrust into the spotlight faster than most, headlining electronic festivals only a few years later. In 2016 they followed Settle with Caracal which received similar acclaim despite lacking a breakout single.
Now, Disclosure is touring the world in promotion of their latest release, Ecstasy. Though it is only an EP, Ecstasy marks a strong shift in direction for the group, though it is no less compelling. A slightly more approachable pop style forms the backbone of the record, while dance elements are peppered throughout, allowing them to retain their signature style.
This September, Disclosure makes a stop near LA when they perform at the Santa Barbara bowl on 9/30. Don’t miss out on seeing this stellar electronic act at one of California’s most beautiful venues alongside thousands of fans.
