Caspian Performing Live at Barracuda June 14th

Post rock band Caspian will be playing a show at Austin’s Barracuda this summer on Sunday, June 14th along with space rock band Cloakroom as a special guest. Doors for the all ages event open at 8pm and the show starts at 9. Advance general admission tickets are currently being sold for $15 which is quite the steal for what the experience is worth!

Caspian is based out of Massachusetts and formed in 2004, creating beautifully composed instrumental rock. Their first EP You Are the Conductor was released later the next year which gained them positive recognition and the band hit the road on tour. Caspian’s first full length album The Four Trees was released in 2007 and they began touring internationally as well as nationally. With an indie feel and elements of post-metal, Caspian’s music at times can be like a cool breeze that hits you softly and other times like an aggressive wave that washes over you melodically. You’re sure to feel something powerful when you hear these guys.

After a five-year hiatus following their 2015 album Dust and Disquiet, an emotional meditative piece of work after the death of bassist and friend Chris Friedrich, Caspian have returned this year with new music on their latest release of On Circles. Mixing their familiar post-rock sound with electronics and shoegaze ambience, the album channels the cycles of life. It’s good to see them getting back out there and continuing to captivate us through their instrumental bliss. Catch Caspian this summer at Barracuda!
