Simple Plan & New Found Glory Performing at Stubb’s BBQ for Pop Punk’s Still Not Dead Tour 6/28

Simple Plan and New Found Glory want to remind us all that pop punk is still not dead. The bands will be joining forces to deliver this message on a tour together starting in May and hitting up Austin’s Stubb’s BBQ on Sunday, June 28th. Along with them will be a performance by fellow pop punk band Knuckle Puck. Doors to the event will be open at 6pm and the music is set to begin an hour later at 7pm. You can purchase advance general admission tickets for this all ages show for $33 or $36 on the day of the show.

Simple Plan formed in 1999 and have made a name for themselves over the years with quirky lyrics and energetic poppy rock. The Canadian band have won several awards and have made appearances at many iconic events such as The Winter Olympics, The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and Vans Warped Tour in which they headlined for its last run in 2018. Simple Plan capture the essence of teen angst and have created songs that we can look back on and say “Yep, I remember feeling that way” and if you turned on the radio during the early 2000’s you also remember how you couldn’t help but sing along to songs like “I’m Just a Kid”, “Addicted” and the one that really gave us the feels, “Perfect”. The guys have continued their catchy punk style onto their latest album Taking One for the Team which was released in 2016 and features a track with New Found Glory singer and good friend, Jordan Pundik.

New Found Glory made an impression in the late 90’s as well forming in 1997 fresh out of high school. Known for their energetic live performances and their combination of poppy punk with emo rock, NFG create a unique sound. They have a thing for covering classic songs like Sixpence None the Richer’s “Kiss Me” and Aerosmith’s “I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing” and who doesn’t love a good pop punk cover? In 2017, the band released their album Makes Me Sick and continues to thrive with the sound we all know and love from them with a sequel to the album, Makes Me Sick Again in which they released the next year.
