Post-punk fans throughout the ages will be pleased to witness a performance by Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds this fall on October 6th at the Frank Erwin Center. The show is set to start at 8:30pm and the lowest priced single general admission tickets are currently going for $73 and will increase the closer it gets to the show date.
Australian singer and songwriter Nick Cave has made his way to becoming a timeless icon to have come out of the genre of post-punk. Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds formed after the breakup of goth punk band The Birthday Party in 1983 and worked their way into becoming everyone’s alternative/punk dream beginning in the 80s. Cave’s songs have been covered by multiple prominent artists such as Josh Groban, Johnny Cash, Arctic Monkeys and Metallica. The dark and chilling lyrics by Cave are complemented by the dramatic instrumentals of the bad seeds. The musical style of Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds ranges from noisy art rock to experimental indie to blues and never failing post-punk. The band’s latest album Ghosteen displays a more somber tone and serves as a powerful testament to the hardships of loss.
If this show doesn’t sound like the perfect ode to October then I don’t know what does. Catch a chilling performance by Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds this fall!
