Since 2008, The British Music Embassy has played a major role in international showcasing at SXSW and it will be returning for its 13th year at the festival with a new location at Cedar Street Courtyard. This event will be featuring 13 showcases with more than 60 performances including the best European rising stars in music. The British Music Embassy is taking place from Sunday, March 15th until Saturday, March 21st. If you don’t have a badge or wristband, no worries! There will be a mix of free day parties along with official showcases.

Jehnny Beth, who is the vocalist of English rock band Savages will be one of the many artists making an appearance at the embassy. Beth has easily become one of the most unique and trailblazing women in independent rock. She has even been hosting her own radio show since 2016 called Start Making Sense on Beats 1, which invites other artists in independent music to come on. Beth’s debut album titled Love is to Live is set to be released on May 8th featuring noisy track “I’m the Man”.

Irish multi-instrumentalist and producer Joel Johnston of Far Caspian has been creating laid back and dreamy tracks in his house since 2018. During his live performances, Johnston brings in friends for a full band experience, making it a more collective performance for fans to enjoy. Far Caspian has sold out several shows in Europe and is well on his way to excelling in his craft worldwide.

Fans of punk rock will be pleased to see The Wood Burning Savages, who are known for their fast-paced guitar style and fiery performances. Their live shows have been described as wild and energetic, displaying their natural rebellious spirit. The band played at Glastonbury in 2019 and has been advocated by BBC Introducing and BBC Radio6 Music.

Come out and enjoy some talented European musicians, some of which, will be making their debut in the US at this event!
