Various artists will take to different stages at the Dour Festival in Belgium this coming July 15-19, 2020. With artists like the French-Congolese rapper Niska, as well as the multi-talented, James Blake, A$AP Rocky, Modeselektor and rapper, Alkpote, the festival which has been around for over 30 years is sure to be electric. Other artists include, Oxmo Puccino, Earthgang, Flohio, Lorenzo and Oboy, the rap game’s new sensation.
The lineup also includes French songwriter Yseult with her solid gold voice and the young and talented Mahalia, a rising singer from Britain. On the techno side, the line-up is growing with the arrival of the Italian duo 999999999 (pronounced “Nine Times Nine”), Ben Klock, The Black Madonna, Honey Dijon, The Ukrainian Nastia, Dutchman Reinier Zonneveld live and Talaboman, a duo composed of John Talabot and Axel Boman.
Black Sun Empire a group considered to be the spearheads of the hardest, deepest and most experimental drum and bass around will be at the show. Also, Turno, one of the best prospects on the English underground scene, Billx, Kings Of The Rollers, as well as Black Lips who are pioneers of grimy garage rock are also confirmed for the festival. Ty Segall, plus Chilean krautrock group Föllakzoid and French rock band, The Psychotic Monks, will also be there.
Festival-goers can purchase a 5-days ticket for €160, valid from Wednesday 15 July until Sunday 19 July or a 1-day ticket, only valid for the chosen day which costs 65€. The festival has various stages including, The Last Arena, De Red Bull Elektropedia Balzaal, BoomBox, Le Petite Maison, Dans La Prairie, La Chaufferie, Le Garage, Dub Corner, Le Labo and Rockamadour.
The stages have a life of their own at the Dour Festival, as each stage is dedicated to different musical genres. For example, the main stage, The Last Arena can fill up to 20,000 people whereas the stage, De Red Bull Elektropedia Balzaal can fill up to 15,000 people and caters to electronic music artists where festival attendees can enjoy music from the world’s best DJ’s who will be going from 3:00pm to 3:00am. The BoomBox stage features the best hip hop, soul, RnB and swing artists from all over the world. The stage, Le Petite Maison Dans la Prairie is where most indie music-fans will witness new music discoveries and enjoy this musical genre. The La Chaufferie stage which can fill 7,500 people will feature dark techno, drum’n’bass, dubstep, gabber and considered Dour’s new giant open air dance club. Le Garage is the new temple dedicated to guitars, where fans can headbang, dance pogos, listen to rock, metal, garage or punk music.
