New Zealand indie band The Naked and Famous have announced their upcoming album, Recover, set to be released in May of this year. The news comes accompanied with the release of the music video for the duo’s new single, “Bury Us,” which is set to be a part of the upcoming album, but there has not been an announcement of an official release date or tracklist for Recover.
The video shows a series of different fruits being sliced in prepared, all while the playful tune is heard in the background. With each new line of the song comes a new frame featuring a different fruit; pineapple, kiwi, strawberries, and other tropical fruits are all at the forefront of the video. The vibrance and colorful energy of the fruit represents the exuberant energy that the song, and ultimately the album will portray.
Though The Naked and Famous are relatively new to the indie scene, their use of electronics in their music has elevated them to international appeal. However, their latest album released in 2018, A Still Heart, showcased the band’s ability to turn to their acoustic roots. Though the sound on A Still Heart was different than the sound that the band is usually known for, it saw wide success, and helped The Naked and Famous cement themselves in the international electro-indie arena.
