SXSW Music Festival 2020 Announces Third Round of Showcasing Artists Featuring Soccer Mommy, The Haden Triplets and Nicole Atkins

SXSW has made its first artist announcement of the new year, and this one is the largest yet, with over 350 artist in total. There are plenty of highlights in this batch of performers, including buzzworthy bedroom pop artist Soccer Mommy, the prolific sisters of The Haden Triplets, beloved singer-songwriter Nicole Atkins, 80’s college rockers turned radio stars Soul Asylum and many others. The 34th annual music portion of the festival takes place MIarch 16-22, 2020 and as always, is held in and around downtown Austin, TX.

There are many other recognizable names that have been announced among the hundreds of relatively unknown artists looking to make a major impact at the country’s biggest music gathering. Indie rock band Beach Slang will bring the classic rock worshipping tunes from their recent album The Deadbeat Band of Heartbreak City, which saw the band revitalizing the guitar-rock sound with their own alternative influences.

Other noteworthy artists include Baba Ali, who recently signed to Danger Mouse’s label, Caroline Rose, who recently announced her new album Superstar will be released later this year, folk artist Esme Patterson, Brooklyn’s Kino Kimino, which is the current band of Kim Talon, Austin’s own The Kraken Quartet, New York band Lightning Bug, UK post punk band Mush, who’ll be releasing a new album in February, Minneapolis indie rockers Night Moves, LA garage-psych band The Paranoyds, one of the original power pop bands The Posies, frenetic UK post-punk band Shopping (who have a new album out in February) and Los Angeles band Tennis System.
