Famed rock singer/actor Meat Loaf went on the record to voice his opinions of the rapidly trailblazing 17-year-old Swedish environmental activist, Greta Thunberg. Touching on an array of topics, unrelated to any serious environmental or political issues, Meat Loaf expressed concerns for Thunberg accusing her of being “brainwashed” in her views of climate change.
Meat Loaf (born Marvin Lee Aday), a staunch non-believer of climate change, according to Consequence of Sound went on to voice his opinions “In an interview with Daily Mail, Meat Loaf claimed that Thunberg is being used by others to forward their agenda. ‘I feel for that Greta,’ he said. ‘She has been brainwashed into thinking that there is climate change and there isn’t. She hasn’t done anything wrong but she’s been forced into thinking that what she is saying is true.'”
Thunberg, who recently garnered major notoriety and publicity, has been steadfast with her views for more to be done as far as legislation and the lack thereof for active support in regards to environmental issues. Thunberg even recently caught the attention of President Trump who had choice words for the young environmental activist, via Twitter. The aforementioned Consequence of Sound article furthers that, “Thunberg rocketed to fame and became Time’s 2019 Person of the Year after starting organized strikes, giving United Nations speeches, and holding worldwide protest marches in response to global climate change inaction.”
As for Meat Loaf, the initial aforementioned Daily Mail interview paints him as bragging about his ease with getting with beautiful woman even at the height of his career when he was overweight, it seems to be a stark contrast of opinions in regards to Thunberg. Meat Loaf also spoke of his vast weight loss that attributed to being a vegetarian as well as watching fat and sugar content in foods. The Daily Mail article furthers that “Meat Loaf was a vegetarian for 11 years and once went from 265lbs to what he weighs today, which is 195lbs.” Meat Loaf’s last musical offering was his twelfth full length studio album 2016’s Braver Than We Are, via Caroline International S&D/429 Records.
