The Northwest Terror Fest has announced its 2020 lineup featuring the likes of Suffocation, Windhand and Repulsion, who will perform on Seattle, Washington this year on May 28th-30th. The clubs across the city that will be hosting these groups and many more for the festival will be Neumos, Barboza and the Highline.
Other bands who will be performing at the festival include Sandrider, Xibalba, Visigoth, Obsequiae, Blood Incantation, Summoned By Giants, Oryx, Grayceon and Vile Creature. Last year’s festival featured the likes of Pig Destroyer, KEN Mode and Thou, and was also held at the same three clubs during May 30th to June 1st.
The New York based death metal band Suffocation originated in 1988, and have released eight total albums since their inception, with their most recent release being …Of The Dark Light. This latest show will feature Ricky Myers, who performed wioth the band from 2015-2016 and again in 2018 and part of 2019, as their lead vocalist, replacing their best known vocalist Frank Mullen.
“The appeal that Of the Dark Light brings to the table lies in its unpredictability,” mxdwn reviewer CJ Brown explained. “Tempo changes come quickly, guitar solos appear out of seemingly nowhere and the ride cymbal sounds as if it will be caved in at any given moment. This accumulation of factors serves to keep listeners engaged and banging their heads almost involuntarily throughout the entire 35-minute, nine-track ride. All in all, Of the Dark Light is everything new or perennial death metal fanatics could ask for.”
Repulsion will be making an appearance at Mass Destruction Metal Fest IV, alongside the likes of Nuclear Assault and Monstrosity.
