Mass Destruction Metal Fest IV has announced its 2020 lineup featuring several prominent underground heavy metal acts including Repulsion, Nuclear Assault and Monstrosity, who are all set to perform at the The Loft at Center Stage in Atlanta, Georgia next year. This festival will take place November 6th and 7th, and will also host the likes of Massacre, Cenotaph, Malignancy, Thornspawn, Estuary, and Vimur.
“The growth of Mass Destruction is ever more apparent when you get to see the depth of our lineup this year, as we have several bands that headline shows in their own right on the same bill,” the festival’s founder Cody Martin stated in a press release. “Just watching the new promo video got us all excited to share everything with the world. November 2020 cannot come soon enough!”
Martin co-hosts the event with Atlanta promoter Amos Rifkin of A Rippin Production, and the event is advertised as a “a festival created for fans by fans.” Past performers have included Sigh, Demoncy, Demolition Hammer, Nile, Terrorizer, Macabre, Sadistic Intent, The Chasm and The Accused AD.
Repulsion are a veteran band in the scene, debuting in 1984 and hailing from Flint, Michigan. Despite their lengthy career, they have only released one single studio album titled Horrified, which was originally released in 1989 on Necrosis Records, then later on Relapse Records in 1992 and 2003, and re-released via Southern Lord Records in 2006.
Nuclear Assault formed in 1984 as well in New York City, where they became a part of the the East Coast thrash metal scene along with Overkill, Whiplash, Toxik, Carnivore, and Anthrax. Monstrosity are a death metal outfit which formed in the 1990s in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
