Vince Staples released a new track titled, “Hell Bound” with an animated music video that features a cute and innocent, cartoon figure who falls into the pits of hell. The little character proceeds to march around hell, all the while smiling and acting oblivious while the rising flames of hell mark the backdrop. Throughout the video, the lyrics wax in and out while the little character marches on quite happily as lyrics continue, “Hell Bound, it’s going down. My homies go so hard they medicate. We never making it to heaven’s gates.” The intro of the song breaks through with Staple’s voice coming through against the beat, “I do it. Turn it up. I do it.” This song definitely grows on you as you listen to Staples’ definitive vocals as he lays down the same verse repeatedly. “Hell Bound” is the third single released in 2019 by Staples.
The artist just launched his new website, TheVinceStaplesShow+ where he showcases video content, episodes and never-before seen BTS content from “The Vince Staples Show,” links to his official music videos and past albums, interviews and videos of his live shows. In addition to video content, fans can find his upcoming tour dates and purchase fan merchandise. The new track, “Hell Bound” is Staples’ third single released in 2019.
The first episode from Staple’s website presents itself with a phone call about a commercial shoot invitation from the supposed representative of Malia Obama (daughter of Barack Obama). After accepting the invitation, the rapper enters the “Catch a Fade” barbershop to get a fresh performing-ready look. Later the rapper gets into it with Pasadena street gangsters and a street fight breaks out in the store. Staples, who is “too hard to kill,” defeats the gangsters at the end of the fight, and the story ends up with him walking out of the shop victorious.
Staples, the Long Beach-based rapper has been establishing himself as one of the more prominent rappers in the game. While Staples’ 2017’ album Big Fish Theory was widely acclaimed, his latest album FM!, released in 2018, was even more fun. The original song that will accompany each episode of the new mini-series will be released as a stand-alone single. Based on that, it’s interesting to listen to Staples’ next project come together slowly.
Staples recently performed at the 2019 Adult Swim Festival, headlining with Young Thung and Tierra Whack. The hip-hop music festival took place on November 15 and 16 at the Banc of California Stadium in Los Angeles.
