The Pitchfork Music Festival in Berlin, Germany has announced its 2020 lineup, which will feature the likes of electronic musician Kelly Lee Owens, psychedelic pop duo Peaking Lights and a live set from Modeselektor. Other prominent performances include sets by Nick Hakim, Celeste, Nadine Shah, duendita, Tim Hecker along with a live set by rRoxymore and a DJ set by John Talabot. The latest edition of this music festival is being made in cooperation with MCT Agentur, which has organized a variety of musical events across the globe. This upcoming event will take place at Berlin’s Tempodrom from May 8 to May 9.
Modeselektor recenly released their first song in three years titled “Kalif Storch,” which was featured on the compilation Modeselektion Vol. 04. This compilation was released via Monkeytown Records x Ninja Tune, and featured 17 exclusive tracks from artists such as Skee Mask, rRoxymore, Solid Blake, Sarah Farina, Peder Mannerfelt, Vatican Shadow and Actress.
Owens juggles a variety of eclectic electronic music genres in her work, ranging from dream pop to folktronica. The performer debuted her self-titled album project in 2017 and an EP entitled Oleic a year prior.
Peaking Lights worked on The Time Has Come To Shoot You Down…What A Sound, a reworking of the Stone Roses debut album with The Flaming Lips back in 2013. The duo consists of husband and wife Aaron Coyes and Indra Dunis.
Hecker released the studio album Anoyo earlier this year. “Soundscape and ambient music are hard to get people interested in, yet Anoyo is different. Its elegance and minimalistic direction are unmatched, and Hecker adds another beautiful piece to his two-decade music career,” mxdwn reviewer Ines Lalonde explained.
