The New Regime Debuts Music Video for Alt-Rock-Single “It’s Gonna Be OK”

In a series of collective concept EPs from alternative rock band The New Regime frontman Ilan Rubin, the multi-instrumentalist drummer of Nine Inch Nails and Angels & Airwaves fame, has just premiered the music video for their latest single “It’s Gonna Be OK” from Mind the second installment of their forthcoming album Heart Mind Body & Soul. According to a press release, The New Regime’s “Mind was released on November 22nd, following the release of The New Regime’s first installment, Heart. Both EP’s are off the band’s new full-length album Heart Mind Body & Soul out Spring 2020.” With the latest visual treat “It’s Gonna Be OK” it reinforces Rubin’s ability to not only forge great allegiances with current alternative rock elite bands, but also carve out his own burgeoning path as an unstoppable multitalented force being the brainchild and frontman behind The New Regime.

The therapeutically inspiring music video for “It’s Gonna Be OK” opens with a woman in distress as a series of events in reverse unfold. The viewer watches as the woman, presumably in her room, is surrounded by feathers ripped from a pillow casing. She moves throughout the dimly lit room undoing the damage she has just created in a fit of frustrations that could stem from betrayal of a loved one. Clothes once torn away from various drawers as well as hung on hangers from a clothes rack are put away and placed upright from the floor. Delicate items like a ceramic cup, lamp shades, a glass mirror as well as glass from from small jars of charcoaled paints go from shards to being placed unharmed in their original state. An acoustic guitar that is flung across the room flies back to be placed where it originally was standing as well as a small canvas picture that was thrown at the floor is placed back in the upward position. She unsheathes a blade that was the cause of multiple piercings from a pillow casing that left feathers on the bed where she lay. The woman in the video goes from multiple facial expressions of calm, worried, anger and sadness. The video also features Rubin playing the piano and singing lyrics that tell the all-encompassing story of after everything is said and done “It’s Gonna Be OK.”

Speaking on the message and the various moods behind “It’s Gonna Be OK” Rubin had this to say:

“‘It’s Gonna Be OK’ is a positive song, lyrically, and is all about keeping your chin up when things are looking down,’ states Ilan Rubin about the track. ‘Musically, it has a cool shuffle feel and lot of Brian Wilson-esque harmonies in the choruses and outro. I love the constant change in mood from light to dark throughout the entire song.'”
