Lizzo’s “Good As Hell” Video Gives a Glimpse into Homecoming 2019 at Louisiana’s Southern University

On Dec. 9, American rapper and songwriter, Melissa Viviane Jefferson, widely known as Lizzo, released a new music video for her song, “Good As Hell.” Jefferson originally released a music video for “Good As Hell” in 2016, but has re-released it as a tribute to the 2019 Louisiana Southern University marching band, dance team and homecoming.

The video starts off showing students in class patiently getting ready for the homecoming game, rushing out of their class to practice in the band hall. Students are marching on their campus field as other band members are getting their instruments in the locker room.

Lizzo stands in the middle of the band hall as the students are practicing, and the dancers are getting dressed in their room. The beat drops, the instruments disappear, and Jefferson and the band members start dancing.

“I do my hair toss, check my nails,” Jefferson sings. “Baby how you feelin’?”

Jefferson and the band members are on the bus, getting hyped for the night, as one of the dancers is standing under the spotlight. The scene cuts to the stadium football field where it shows the dancers walking onto the field, while Jefferson and the band are in the stands, dancing and playing their instruments.

The band follows the dancers to the field, where are they simultaneously dancing and playing their instruments, the drum major holds is baton as he is hyping up the crowed. The song ends by showing off the band and the dance team, highlighting their powerful energy, mixed with Jefferson’s enthusiasm.

Jefferson is set to play at the Madison Square Garden, in New York City, NY, on Dec. 13, for a Christmas themed concert. She will be playing alongside Taylor Swift, the Jonas Brothers, Halsey, Camila Cabello and many more.
