Robyn Hitchcock returns to the Largo at the Coronet on December 13

There aren’t too many career musicians left these days. The toll that touring and constantly forcing yourself to make commercial creative output is deeply taxing, and if you don’t come across extravagant success quickly it can seem like giving up is the best option. It’s why so many bands and famous artists we see are in their twenties and then they disappear into the ether, only the truly maniacal can continue their careers well into their 40’s and onward.

This rarity turns career musicians into something special. A few have become legends in their own right because of their longevity, artists like Patti Smith, Nick Cave, Randy Newman and Leonard Cohen are so popular in part because they have been releasing music for much of their adult lives. Some artists never grow to quite that level of popularity but still become respected members and contributors to their genres. The latter group is where Robyn Hitchcock finds himself firmly planted.

Robyn Hitchcock has been making music for over 40 years and has released over 20 records, whether under his name or as a member of 70s neo-psychedelia band the Soft Boys. Most recently, he was commissioned for the soundtrack of the 2018 romantic comedy Juliet, Naked, and teamed up with English pop legend Andy Partridge for the EP PLANET ENGLAND

On December 13th Robyn brings his lifelong pursuit of music to the Largo at the Coronet for an intimate show. Take a chance to catch one of the great career artists at a special venue and get a glimpse at one of the people who makes it all tick behind the scenes.
