The long-awaited lineup for the 2020, 4-day legendary music festival, MerleFest, has just been announced, on Dec. 9. Legendary band, Willie Nelson & Family, along with veteran musicians, John Prine and Alison Krauss, are some of the few prestigious names performing at this festival.
Aside from Willie Nelson & Family, John Prine and Alison Krauss, other big-name artists such as Tommy Emmanuel, Charley Crockett and Colin Hay will be playing the festival. The festival is also hosting a songwriting competition, the application for the contest opened on Oct. 1, and will close on Feb. 1, 2020. The winners of the contest will perform the winning song on the Cabin Stage, on Friday, Apr. 24, and will also perform a 12-13-minute set on the Cabin Stage, Saturday, Apr. 25.
