Gone Is Gone Uses Social Media to Tease New Music

The rock supergroup Gone is Gone have teased some new music on their social media earlier today, indicating that the band may release new music soon, just after their scheduled live appearance at Germany’s Clouds Hill Festival. This recent performance served as the band’s fourth show ever, and their only show that has ever been performed outside of Los Angeles, California.

The clip they teased on social media is hard hitting, with bombastic drums and basslines featuring heavy distortion, keeping true to the band’s hard rock style. The band captioned the tweet with: “No One Ever Walked On Water.
1 week,” possibly indicating a potential song title and release date for the full track.

Gone is Gone consists of Troy Sanders, the singer and bass player from Mastodon, Troy Van Leeuwen, one of the guitarists for Queens of the Stone Age, Tony Hajjar, the drummer for At the Drive-In, and Mike Zarin a multi-instrumentalist, composer and founder of Sencit Music.

The supergroup performed a 14 track long set, which consisted of tracks off their EP and their 2017 album Echolocation at the Troubadour back in 2017. “Hosted at the intimate and historic Troubadour in West Hollywood, it was rare opportunity for die-hard fans of this fledgling band to witness brand new songs and older favorites up-close and personal,” Matt Matasci of mxdwn wrote in his review of their performance.

Gone is Gone debuted the song “Phantom Limb” back in 2018.
