Soccer Mommy Releases New Song “Feed” From The Turning Original Motion Picture Soundtrack

Singer-songwriter Soccer Mommy has released a new song entitled “Feed,” from the original motion picture soundtrack for the upcoming Floria Sigismondi directed film The Turning. The project will be released on KRO Records/Sony Records and featured an all-star cast including Courtney Love, Mitski, Empress Of, Vagabon, Warpaint, Cherry Glazerr, Kali Uchis, Alice Glass, Girl In Red and Kim Gordon.

“Feed,” begins with heavy distorted electric guitar feedback, taking a grunge inspired sound with loud-soft guitar dynamics and rhythms, complimented by the Soccer Mommy’s vocal delivery. This track follows the 1990s inspired vibe which The Turning soundtrack strives to achieve.

“I’ve always wanted to do a song for a horror movie so I loved getting to write Feed,” Soccer Mommy explained in a press release. “It’s a song about letting a demon feed off your body. It was really fun to get to write something a little more imaginative than my other songs.”

This track was produced by Soccer Mommy and mixed by Lawrence Rothman, who explained:

The Turning takes place in 1990’s – instead of using licensed 90’s music- Floria and I wanted to create a soundtrack that was 90’s influenced mixing our favorite new artist and a few from the 90’s era. Giving the film its own world and its own unique version of the 90’s that only this film lives in. When Sophie from Soccer Mommy sent the raw demo to ‘Feed’ it became the main character Kate played by Mackenzie Davis cassette mixtape jam on constant repeat”

Soccer Mommy released a music video for “yellow is the color of her eyes” earlier this year. The artist also debuted “lucy,” back in September.
