Poliça have debuted a new music video for the song “Forget Me Now,” which will be featured on the band’s upcoming album Stay Alive, which is set to be released on January 31 via Memphis Industries. The band have also announced a set of spring 2020 tour dates which will begin in London. UK and finish up in Des Moines, Iowa.
“Forget Me Now,” features simplistic visuals, and shows the band performing with various strobe lights, which are meant to preview the band’s upcoming 2020 performances. These visuals were directed by friend and long-term collaborator Isaac Gale.
The song fits in well with the modern day pop landscape, with a deep bassline, soft piano chords, and a strong vocal performance by the band’s singer Channy Leaneagh.
“‘Forget Me Now’ is letting off some steam. It’s about recognizing a pattern of choosing people who can’t love you how you wish to be loved. It’s still remaining very grateful, counting blessings day and night; but don’t confuse being at peace with being a pushover,”Leaneagh stated in a press release. “I think I wrote these words while angry-shoveling this winter. How does it go? ‘Choose a liar once and that’s the liar’s fault; choose a liar three times and it seems maybe I likes liars?’ All the songs are about me and none of them are; this isn’t an excerpt from my diary but it has been many times.”
The band are set to perform at Eaux Claires Hiver, a spinoff festival of Eaux Claires, the festival founded by Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon and The National’s Aaron Dessner. This latest music video follows from their previously released tracks “Driving,” and “trash in bed.”
