Prominent genre defying bassist Thundercat has announced a set of 2020 tour dates, which will take place across North America, beginning in Vancouver British, Columbia, and ending in Dallas, Texas. Other stops along the way include performances at Webster Hall in New York City and the Wiltern in his hometown of Los Angeles.

Thundercat’s most recent album Drunk was released back in 2017. Released on  the Flying Lotus led Brainfeeder Records, this album contained a blend of genre bending influences, from funk and R&B to Jazz and the experimental electronic music the label is known for pioneering.

“Losing his mind, phone, wallet and heart, Thundercat drunkenly stumbles through his 23-song epic album,” mxdwn reviewer Kalah McLaughlin explained. “The electronic jazz fusion is a blur of the artist’s open mind, proving that drunk thoughts can produce sobering realities. Drunk is packaged like a musical, intoxicating listeners with a relatable storyline that digs deep and soars high.”

The performer was also a member of the influential crossover thrash band Suicidal Tendencies from 2002 to 2001, where he brought his skill to the projects  Year of the Cycos, No Mercy Fool!/The Suicidal Family and 13. The bassist even teamed up for a collaboration with Michael McDonald and Kenny Loggins for a comedic single entitled “Show You The Way.”

The bassist also performed at Dave Chapelle’s Dayton, Ohio benefit, which also featured the likes of Chance the Rapper, Talib Kweli, Teyana Taylor and Stevie Wonder.
