Canadian electronic music producer, Joel Thomas Zimmerman, better known as deadmau5, released a new track “Fall”, featured on the CubeV3 Tour. “Fall”, released through Zimmerman’s label, mau5trap, is a dark, mystical journey through an electronic battlefield, filled with unexpected drops, throwing it back to his old sound.
“Fall”, starts off a mystic buzzing sound, complemented by a shallow beat. The buzzing narrows down as the beat slowly starts to lead the song. The electronic buzzing turns into a melody as multiple beats, coming in from different directions, compete with the main beat. Halfway through the song, the beat disappears, as if it were to fall off the face of the earth.
The buzzing transforms to sound laser-like, building up to the drop, which brings the song back to how it starts off in the beginning, but only with an electronic variation. The beats sound higher-pitched and the buzzing gets faster and louder. Towards the end of the song, the beats and the melody change, as if it were a new song, and slowly fades out to the sound of lasers on a shallow beat.
Zimmerman’s CubeV3 tour originated in April 2010 at Coachella in California, becoming one of the most interactive live acts across the globe, and eventually fueling the demand for the Cube 2.1 in 2017. The CubeV3 tour will be mind-bending in all directions, with an abundance of music, performed by Zimmerman.
The CubeV3 tour will be kicking off on Dec. 7 in Minneapolis, MN at Armory.
