The dreamy classic, “I’ll Be Home for Christmas” by Kacey Musgraves and Lana Del Rey has been released. These two divas collaborate in a melodic holiday classic that is sure to make you feel more festive this season. The song is definitely beautiful as these two talented female artists put a new spin on this traditional song. The recording was performed live from the Kacey Musgraves Christmas Show. The audience claps wildly as Musgraves and Del Rey celebrate each other before the song concludes.
Kacey Musgraves spent over a year creating the show working with a production crew to bring fans the spirit of Christmas. The show has been featured on Amazon Prime on November 29 and in a clip her crew says they created an eccentric and magical show. One crew member says the base of it was like Wes Anderson meets Gucci. The show features artists like Fred Armisen, Camila Cabello, Troye Sivan, Kendall Jenner, Zooey Deschanel, Lana Del Rey and others. Earlier this month, Musgraves performed a song from the special, “Glittery,” on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
Musgraves will take part in the upcoming Lollapalooza Chile set to take place at O’Higgins Park on March 27-29, 2020 in Santiago, Chile. Other performers at the festival will include Travis Scott, Guns N’ Roses, Lana Del Rey, The Strokes, Gwen Stefani, Vampire Weekend, Cage The Elephant, James Blake, The Lumineers, Charli XCX and so many others. The song “Butterflies” was described by Musgraves as a song that “Represents those feelings that you have when you’re first meeting somebody and you fall in love. This was the first song actually that I wrote after meeting my now-husband, so it was about three weeks after I met him. I was all in. I was like, ‘This is my person.’”
Musgraves also played The Governor’s Ball in the summer of 2019 along with various artists. The Governors Ball which is in its ninth consecutive year took place on Friday, May 31 through Sunday, June 2 with performances at Randall’s Island Park.
