Heavy metal band Eyehategod have announced that they are almost done recording a new album, which they revealed during a recent interview with The Void With Christina. This interview was recorded and uploaded onto the program’s music channel, where they discussed their drummer Aaron Hill and memories of their late drummer Joey LaCaze.
“It’s recorded. I just have to do vocals on it. We’ve been on tour so much,” the band’s frontman Mike IX Williams stated, according to the PRP. “I was supposed to do it a few months ago, but something happened and things fell apart with that… we were leaving for tour immediately… So, I’m going to try to get it done. We’re taking a few months off after this thing; after Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand, South Korea. But yeah, as soon as all that’s done, I’m going to take some time off, and then there’s a studio… I know where I’m going to go and do it.”
Hill was stabbed and robbed prior to the band’s show in Guadalajara, Mexico, while he was making his way from his hotel to the venue. The drummer as reportedly was assaulted by three men and one woman who demanded his belongings at an intersection.
“Today while Aaron Hill walked to the venue he suffered a robbery,” the band stated following the assault. ” They have a driver at their disposal; but they were touring the city all afternoon, so he preferred to walk to the venue, for his hotel is very close; when 4 people, two blocks away, intercepted and took away their belongings. While one of them threatened him and made him a 5 cm wound on the left side. He is well, however it was not possible to continue with the show.”
During a show in Arkansas earlier this year, the band caught the ire of Senator Jason Rapart, who demanded a boycott of their performance venue Vino’s after the venue put up a poster showing the senator eating a baby.
