Lodge Room Leaving Records 10th Anniversary Show 12/21

While they may be underappreciated, indie music labels are what keep the sounds we listen to fresh and exciting. Though a majority of their music may go unnoticed by casual observers they provide a gateway into the stylings and culture of a specific location, movement, time and place that you can’t get from just listening to whatever the major labels throw your way.

Over the past ten years, Leaving Records has played a small but integral part in the LA underground music scene. Artists like Dakim and Odd Nodsam owe their small success stories to Leaving Records, who have tirelessly promoted the work of small left field artists who otherwise would have a difficult time breaking through the noise.

To celebrate their success to date – Leaving Records is throwing a bit of a party. Just before the holidays hit their stride, Leaving Records is taking up residency in the Lodge Room with a number of their artists including Odd Nodsam, Black Taffy, Dakim, Sam Gendel & Sam Wilkes, Uppy and many others. The resulting experience is a can’t miss party where you’re practically guaranteed to hear new music that could become your next favorite thing.

Indie labels really do push the music industry forward. Without them all we would get is the next big thing that is going to sell. Their willingness to take risks puts them in a difficult position, but the work that they do benefits us all. Take a shot listening to some of these artists and check out the party at the Lodge Room on December 21st, it’s bound to be a good one.
