On the morning of Nov. 27, the home of Wilco frontman, Jeff Tweedy, was caught in gunfire, on the Northwest side of Chicago. According to a Facebook post made by Miller Tweedy, Tweedy’s wife, there were around 7 to 10 shots fired.
“You know how every time you hear loud pops you think, was that fireworks or gunshots,” Tweedy posted. “Well, when it’s really gunfire, there is zero question about it.”
After hearing the gunshots, Tweedy called 911, realizing her house had been shot at.
A bullet went through the storm door to our balcony and lodged in the wooden door,” said Tweedy. “In the light of the day today, Jeff found seven shell casing outside.”
At the moment, the perpetrator is still unknown, and Jeff Tweedy has declined to comment on the shooting.
Wilco is scheduled to play at the High Water Festival in Apr. 2020, alongside Nathaniel Rateliff, Brittany Howard and Shovel & Rope. Wilco has also recently released their album Ode To Joy and a music video for their song “Everyone Hides”, featured on their recently released album.
