Justice Announces Physical Release of IRIS: A Space Opera for Black Friday 2019

French electronic music duo Justice have announced a physical release of their project IRIS: A Space Opera, which will come out this Black Friday, November 29. Fans can sign up to purchase either a Blu-Ray pack containing a Nlu-Ray disc of the film, a VHS Pack, containing a VHS of the project and an Ultimate Pack for the project here.

Although the items are not officially listed on the website, the image of the Blu-Ray pack show an accompanying movie poster and t-shirt, while an image of the VHS pack holds a poster, hoodie, s small figure and a card hosting what looks like a USB device. The image for the Ultimate pack includes a poster, the hoodie, the Blu-Ray a container that looks like a vintage movie reel, a circular disc, a keychain, two small figures, the card from the VHS pack and several photographs of the duo.

While IRIS is branded as a space opera, mxdwn reviewer Drew Pitt explained that the project is more of an audio visual experience, without a cohesive narrative. The soundtrack for the film compiles many of the duo’s fan favorites, which are backed by visuals that are reminiscent of classic films such as 2001: A Space Odyssey.

“IRIS isn’t necessarily a must see experience for everyone, if you’re not a fan of Justice already it offers little in the way of entertainment, but if you are a fan this is a can’t miss experience,” Pitt explained. “It’s a concert without the hassle of actually trekking out to some random venue in the middle of nowhere, and it’s a top notch concert at that. If IRIS makes it to a cinema near you and you’re a fan of Justice you owe it to yourself to go get lost in space with them.”
