Faith No More Announces Summer 2020 Tour Dates

This weekend legendary art-rock band Faith No More posted countdown on their website and made some cryptic posts on their social media. Today, the news has been revealed that the band will be playing a few shows in 2020.

These are the first shows for Mike Patton and company since 2016. The two shows that year were special events around the anniversary of We Care A Lot, the album that was released with former lead singer Chuck Mosley. Mosley and the band performed at the Troubadour in West Hollywood and Great American Music Hall in San Francisco – those shows were unfortunately just a few months before Mosley’s death. Patton and Faith No More last performed shows in fall 2015, including appearances at Aftershock, Rock in Rio and Riot Fest in Chicago.

In 2017 Patton has said that Faith No More was on an extended break. In the meantime, he’s been busy with other projects like this year’s collaborative album with Jean Claude Vannier called Corpse Flower. He did couple of Mondo Cane shows in Europe earlier this year and also wrote the theme for Netflix show Nos4a2.

The band will be playing three festivals in June 2020. The first is in Ireland, at Sunstroke Festival with Deftones, The Jesus & Mary Chain, Gojira, Killing Joke and more. Then the next weekend they’ll play in France at Hellfest. Finally, they’ll play Tons of Rock in Norway, with a lineup that features headliners like Deep Purple and Iron Maiden in addition to Faith No More, with an undercard that includes artists like Bring Me The Horizon, Dimmu Borgir, Baroness and more.

While some may be disappointed that the countdown didn’t result in the announcement of the first new album since Sol Invictus in 2015, the band has recently indicated there are plans to work on new music. Sol Invictus was the band’s first new album in 18 years, coming after 1997’s Album of the Year. Speaking of, Sol Invictus topped our best albums list in 2015.

UPDATE (11/27): Faith No More has been added to the Mad Cool 2020 lineup, making a total of four appearances in Europe this summer. The festival takes place in July.

UPDATE (12/02): Faith No More has added even more dates to their 2020 European tour. The dates include three stops in the UK – Manchester, Glasgow and London, plus another festival appearance at Finland’s Tuska Metal Festival.

UPDATE (1/23): Faith No More has announced another show to their 2020 European tour in Manchester, UK. This one will be a special performance because all of the proceeds that come from the show will be donated to the , which will take place on June 9 at O2 Apollo Manchester. According to The PRP, Billy Gould said this about the show:

“Reading the news about what’s been happening in Australia has been heartbreaking,” he said. “It’s hard to even comprehend the scale of damage; hopefully this small contribution on our part can make a difference somewhere.”

UPDATE (1/28): Faith No More has expanded their tour for the second time in seven days. They’ll be playing in Stuttgart and Berlin in Germany, plus Amsterdam in the Netherlands, Milan in Italy and Zurich in Switzerland.
