Heavy Montreal will skip 2020, however festival organizers state that the festival’s fans “should not be worried,” about the recent development. This year’s festival took place at the Parc Jean-Drapeau in Montreal, Quebec, Canada and featured prominent acts such as Slayer, Ghost and Evanescence.
“Heavy Montreal will be taking a break in 2020, but don’t worry!” the music festival’s website stated. “We will continue to present crazy rock & metal concerts throughout the city and the province all year round! All of these shows will still be announced here on our page so stay tuned!”
Tee festival had featured many high-profile artists such as Iron Maiden, Mötley Crüe, Disturbed, Dethklok, Rob Zombie, Korn, Avenged Sevenfold, Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth, Alice Cooper, KISS, Motörhead, Godsmack, In Flames, Slipknot, Marilyn Manson, Deftones, and System of a Down.
“It’s not an easy decision to put one of our events on pause,” Jacques Aubé, COO of the event’s organizers evenko, stated according to The PRP. “Several factors must be taken into consideration, including the number of non-festival metal/rock concerts that will be announced over the next few months.”
Nick Farkas, Senior Vice-President of Concerts and Events at evenko, went on to explain:
“We thank the fans for standing behind us. We’re working hard to make sure we continue to offer the best metal/rock shows in the world! ‘Heavy Montreal‘ fans should not be worried!”
Evenko also hosts the Osheaga Music and Arts festival, who’s lineup this year included Chemical Brothers, Tame Impala and Janelle Monae,. This event also took place at the Parc Jean-Drapeau.
