Finn Wolfhard, the child actor best known for his role in Stranger Things and the 2017 film adaption of the Stephen King novel It, has started a new band called The Aubrey’s. The band will debut a track entitled “Getting Better (otherwise)” which will appear on the soundtrack for The Turning, starring Wolfhard, Mackenzie Davis, and Brooklynn Prince. The Turning will be out in theaters on January, 24 2020.
The actor had previously been a part of a four piece ensemble named Calpurnia, which dropped a debut six track EP entitled Scout in 2018, along with a brief UK tour. Calpurnia revealed that they broke up earlier this month in a social media post.
“It’s been an honour and a gift to meet, work with, and play for so many wonderful people. We feel lucky and hugely grateful for the many fantastic opportunities that came our way,” the band said in an Instagram post”We’re all going to be starting fresh chapters in our lives: new projects, new music, new creative ventures, and new experiences to come.”
Wolfhard stated that while he enjoyed his run with the band, he felt that some fans were simply there because of his role in Stranger Things, rather than his music. “Most of the fans of Calpurnia are Stranger Things fans, which is not a big deal at all, they’re super loyal and incredible, and really do like the music. It’s the people who aren’t fans of the music and are just there because of Stranger Things that really bother me,” Wolfhard explained.
