Lamb of God vocalist Randy Blythe will be joining the legendary industrial band Pigface for the group’s first tour in over 14 years, which will start tonight, and end on November 30th. Blythe will join the band’s mastermind Martin Atkins, along with prominent members Lesley “Ruby” Rankine and Gaelynn Lea for the entirety of this 12 date tour across North America.
Other performers who will join the group on all dates include Mary Byker of PWEI and Gaye Bykers On Acid, Curse Mackey of Evil Mothers, En Esch of KMFDM,, Charles Levi of My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult, Bobdog Catlin of Evil Mothers, Bradley Bills of Chant, Orville Kline of Porn and Chicken, Greta Brinkman of Moby and Druglord, Dirk Flanigan of 77 Luscious Babes on all dates
“I can’t believe it’s been over 14 years since we were out on tour,” Martin Atkins stated regarding the tour. “If anything, it feels more powerful, more connected, more dangerous, more exciting and more important than it ever has before. For all of us; band and audience included. The fact that Randy, Danny, Lesley, Mary, En Esch, Curse, everyone, gives so readily to this thing is nothing but amazing to me on a daily basis.”
Blythe was originally only scheduled to make a few select performances as part of Pigface’s lineup before this announcement. The supergroup has had a revolving lineup, with Atkins usually at the helm, although Rankine and Lea are frequent collaborators.
“I am now doing the whole tour! Getting to play with people like Gaelynn Lea is one of the reasons I love being in Pigface so much! Let the industrial madness begin!” Blythe stated regarding this announcement
Pigface began almost 30 years ago, and was formed by Atkins and William Rieflin in 1990. Many prominent musicians such as Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails, Flea of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Danny Carey of Tool and Dean Ween of the band Ween have contributed to the band’s work.
