The All Points East festival in Victoria Park London, has announced the first phase of its lineup, and first headliner Tame Impala, who will perform on the second day of the festival, May 23. The festival also announced other performers such as Glass Animals, Caribou, Holy Fuck and Whitney, who are also scheduled to perform on the second day.

The first phase of the lineup will take place from May 22 to May 24th, with the second phase of the festival taking place the following week. Last year’s lineup included The Strokes, The Chemical Brothers, Bon Iver, Run The Jewels and Beach House.

Tame Impala announced a new album which is set to be released in 2020 entitled The Slow Rush, which was accompanied by the release of a new song entitled “It Might Be Time.”  “A lot of the songs carry this idea of time passing, of seeing your life flash before your eyes, being able to see clearly your life from this point onwards. I’m being swept by this notion of time passing. There’s something really intoxicating about it,” Kevin Parker, the mastermind behind the band, stated regarding this project.

Caribou ended a five year recording hiatus earlier this year with the release of the track “Home.” “I’m always listening to lots of music and sometimes a loop just jumps out at me – it’s too perfect. That’s how it was with Gloria Barnes’ ‘Home’ – I kept returning to it, meaning to do something with it but not knowing what. Sometimes making music feels like a process I’m in charge of … but there are other times when things just present themselves and my job is to follow their lead. It wasn’t until the circumstances of someone close to me mirrored the refrain of the original song that the track all came together,” the producer stated regarding the song.

Holy Fuck announced a new album entitled Deleter, which will drop in 2020.

UPDATE (12/03): All Points East has announced a second wave of artists and it’s even more impressive than the first announcement. Joining previously-announced acts Tame Impala, Caribou and Holy Fuck at the festival will be Iggy Pop, Kraftwerk, Johnny Marr, Anna Calvi, Kim Gordon, Grandmaster Flash, Jehnny Beth, John Maus, The Orb and more. These new acts will all be performing on Saturday, May 29.
